How to find someone's SteamID64

A SteamID64 is a 17-digit number (e.g. 76561197984957084) that uniquely identifies a Steam account -unlike a username, which anyone can change. There are a few ways to get it depending on what you're starting from.

In this guide

  1. From their Steam profile
  2. In Rust itself
  3. With just a username
  4. Already have one format and need another?

From their Steam profile

  • Copy the full profile URL (steamcommunity.com/id/... or /profiles/...) and paste it into Steam Profile's search box -it resolves on its own, no manual conversion needed.
  • If the URL is already the /profiles/765611... kind, that number IS the SteamID64.

In Rust itself

Press F7 in-game to open the connected players list: the SteamID64 shows right next to each name, with a copy icon.

With just a username

If they have a custom profile URL (a vanity name, like steamcommunity.com/id/name), that name alone is enough -no number needed. If all you have is the name shown in-game (not the Steam account name), several accounts might share that name: use other clues (server, time, clan) to confirm which one it is.

Already have one format and need another?

The SteamID converter switches between SteamID64, SteamID and SteamID3 instantly, no profile lookup needed.
