In-game, press F7 and search for the player -that's their SteamID64. Paste it here.
What is a Steam ID? It's the unique number Steam uses to identify an account. It comes in a few formats -SteamID (STEAM_0:...), SteamID3 ([U:1:...]) and SteamID64 (a 17-digit number, e.g. 76561198...)- but they all point to the same account.
How do I find someone's Steam ID? Paste their Steam profile URL, custom name (vanity URL) or SteamID2/3 into the search box above and it resolves to their SteamID64 automatically. In Rust itself, press F7 and search their name -their SteamID64 shows right next to it.
What does VAC banned or game banned mean? VAC banned means Valve's Anti-Cheat detected cheating on that account, on any game. A game ban is issued by the game's own developer (Facepunch, for Rust) instead of Valve. Either one is a strong signal, but check how long ago it happened -a ban from years ago on an unrelated game says less than a recent one.
Need to switch between formats? SteamID converter.

Or start with the busiest servers right now:
Tracking
Following a player
Done from Servers: open one, check who you want to watch and hit Follow. From then on they show up under the Tracking tab, with their status (online/offline) updating on its own.
Each account has a limit on how many players it can follow at once, based on its plan (see the Plans & billing guide). To follow someone new once you're full, unfollow someone else first.
Auto-refresh
While the Tracking tab is open, data refreshes on its own -how often depends on your plan: every 5 minutes on Scout, every minute on Tracker, every 30 seconds on Overwatch.
Favorites and notes
- Favorite: mark the players you care about most so they stand out in the list.
- Note: a free-text field per player -handy for jotting down their base, clan, or anything you want to remember.
- Linked SteamID: BattleMetrics doesn't always expose a player's SteamID. If you paste it in by hand (grab it from Steam's in-game overlay with Shift+Tab), the card starts showing their bans and account age too, plus a direct link to check them on the Steam Profile tab.
Folders
OverwatchIf you track a lot of people, sort them into folders: by server, by clan, however you like. Hit a player's folder icon, type a name (or pick one you already have) and save.
A row with your folders shows up above the list: tap one to see only those players, or leave All to see them grouped by folder with how many are online in each. With a folder selected you can rename or remove it -removing it doesn't unfollow anyone, it just takes them out of the folder.
Connect/disconnect alerts
Each tracked player has its own alerts panel (bell icon): turn on a sound + browser notification for when they connect, disconnect, or both.
These only fire while the site is open. To get them with the site closed, connect Discord: see the Discord alerts guide.
Raid window
OverwatchIf a player has been offline for more than X minutes (you choose how many), the app flags them as being in a "raid window": they've been gone a while, good time to move. You're notified once, right as they enter the window -not repeatedly while they stay there.
Best raid window prediction
OverwatchAnalyzes that player's offline history from the last 30 days and works out the 4-hour block where they've been offline most often, along with a percentage: how much of that specific window they've spent offline, on average, across the analyzed days.
Needs at least 2 days of history to calculate; with less than that, nothing shows up yet.
Auto-reconnect bot detection
OverwatchIf a player spends less time offline than is humanly normal, day after day, this warning shows up IN ADDITION to the raid window (not instead of it): they're probably using a bot or script to never disconnect. Check in-game to confirm -it's a signal, not proof.
